Part 358: The Rite of Rudrabhishek and a Mother’s Unrest

As the second month progressed, the Kosa harvest was nearing completion. Radhika had successfully completed two Satyanarayan fasts and was preparing for the third. In the midst of this, a significant cosmic alignment occurred—the Great Nag Panchami. Radhika felt a divine calling to perform a 'Rudrabhishek' for her son’s protection. She had managed to call both her son and daughter back for this sacred occasion. Finding a priest during those uncertain times was difficult, but she finally found one.

She had gathered every essential element with great care: milk, curd, honey, sugar, ghee, hemp (bhang), datura, sacred ash (bhasm), ashwagandha, crown flowers (kauwa phool), and perfumes. The ritual was performed by her son’s hands, as she had intended. However, despite the completion of the mantras, Radhika’s heart remained heavy with dissatisfaction. She knew that a truly potent Rudrabhishek required the creation of 108 Shivalingas from sacred sandy soil (Parthiv Shivling), but the priest had skipped this crucial tradition. Though the prayers were offered, the perfectionist devotee in her felt a void, worrying if the omission of those 108 Shivalingas would somehow weaken the shield she was building for her children.

भाग 358: रुद्राभिषेक और एक माँ की व्याकुलता

दो महीने बीतने को थे और कोसा की फसल अब पूरी तरह तैयार होने वाली थी। राधिका सत्यनारायण की दो पूजाएँ पूरी कर चुकी थी और तीसरी की तैयारी में थी। इसी बीच एक महा-तिथि आई—बड़ी नाग पंचमी। राधिका के मन में संकल्प था कि वह अपने बेटे के हाथों रुद्राभिषेक करवाएगी। उसने अपनी बेटी को भी बुलवा लिया था ताकि पूरा परिवार इस पुण्य का साक्षी बने। उन अनिश्चित दिनों में पंडित मिलना मुश्किल था, पर बड़ी मशक्कत के बाद एक पंडित मिला।

राधिका ने पूजा की सामग्री जुटाने में कोई कसर नहीं छोड़ी थी: दूध, दही, शहद, शक्कर, घी, भांग, धतूरा, भस्म, अश्वगंधा, कौवा के फूल और इत्र—सब कुछ तैयार था। बेटे के हाथों से अभिषेक संपन्न तो हुआ, लेकिन राधिका का मन पूरी तरह संतुष्ट नहीं था। वह जानती थी कि रुद्राभिषेक के इस विशेष अनुष्ठान में रेतीली मिट्टी से 108 पार्थिव शिवलिंग बनाए जाने चाहिए थे, लेकिन पंडित जी ने वह विधि नहीं कराई। पूजा तो हो गई, पर राधिका के मन में एक टीस रह गई कि क्या विधि की इस कमी से उसकी साधना का फल कम तो नहीं हो जाएगा? एक माँ की ममता और एक भक्त की सूक्ष्मता उसे रह-रहकर परेशान कर रही थी।

निष्कर्ष: राधिका ने अपनी तरफ से हर सामग्री और श्रद्धा अर्पित कर दी थी, लेकिन विधि का अधूरापन उसे खटक रहा था। उसे नहीं पता था कि महादेव विधि से कहीं अधिक भक्त के भाव और उसकी तड़प देखते हैं।

मजबूत सवाल: क्या पंडित जी द्वारा छोड़ी गई वह 108 शिवलिंग की विधि राधिका की तपस्या में कोई बाधा बनेगी, या भोलेनाथ राधिका की उस व्याकुलता को ही उसकी सबसे बड़ी आहुति मान लेंगे?
