Part 351: The Trance of Devotion Amidst the Storm

As the day’s exhausting work in the forest concluded, Radhika returned home under a heavy downpour. After a quick wash and a cup of tea, she lit the evening lamp and sat on her mat to begin the Sundarkand path. Outside, the rain turned into a torrential storm. Inside, Radhika was transported to a different world, her soul echoing with the tales of Hanuman’s courage. She was so deeply immersed in her prayers that she didn't notice the rainwater gushing into her small room, flooding the floor. It was only when her landlord rushed in, shouting, "Radhika! जंगल का भारी काम निपटाकर राधिका जब शाम को घर पहुँची, तो मूसलाधार बारिश हो रही थी। उसने हाथ-मुँह धोकर चाय पी, दीया-बत्ती की और अपनी चटाई बिछाकर सुंदरकांड का पाठ करने बैठ गई। बाहर बारिश का शोर था, लेकिन राधिका के भीतर केवल हनुमान जी की स्तुति गूँज रही थी। वह भक्ति में इस कदर खो गई कि उसे पता ही नहीं चला कि बारिश का पानी कमरे के भीतर घुस आया है और पूरी फर्श जलमग्न हो चुकी है। तभी मकान मालिक ने घबराकर दरवाज़ा खटखटाया और चिल्लाए, "राधिका! यह तुम क्या कर रही हो? तुम्हें होश भी है कि पूरे घर में पानी भर गया है?"

जब राधिका ने आँखें खोलीं, तो वह दंग रह गई। वह पानी के बीच बैठी थी, लेकिन उसका मन पूरी तरह सूखा और ईश्वर के प्रेम में भीगा हुआ था। मकान मालिक हैरान थे कि कोई इस कदर अपनी सुध-बुध कैसे खो सकता है। पाठ खत्म कर राधिका उठी और घंटों की मेहनत के बाद घर साफ किया। उस सन्नाटे में उसे अचानक अपने बच्चों की बहुत याद आई। उसने फोन लगाया; बेटे से तो बात नहीं हो सकी, पर बेटी की आवाज़ सुनते ही उसके कलेजे को ठंडक मिली। एक माँ के लिए उसकी संतानों की खैरियत ही उसकी सबसे बड़ी ऊर्जा थी।

निष्कर्ष: भक्ति जब गहरी होती है, तो प्रकृति की आपदाएँ भी गौण हो जाती हैं। राधिका की यह 'समाधि' इस बात का प्रमाण थी कि उसका संकल्प अब केवल एक नियम नहीं, बल्कि उसका अस्तित्व बन चुका था।
