राधिका जिस घर में किराए से रहने आई थी, उसके ठीक बगल वाले कमरे में एक यादव परिवार रहता था। वहाँ की मालकिन (मैडम) एक अर्थशास्त्र (Economics) की टीचर थीं और उनके पति एक जन शिक्षक थे। उनका एक बेटा उनके साथ रहता था और बेटी ग्वालियर में पढ़ाई कर रही थी। जहाँ पानी की थोड़ी समस्या थी, वहीं इन लोगों का व्यवहार किसी शीतल जल की तरह सुखद था।

2. दोस्ती का पहला कदम: बिना कहे मदद

अभी राधिका को वहाँ आए एक ही दिन हुआ था कि अचानक दूसरे दिन उसकी तबीयत बहुत ज़्यादा बिगड़ गई। पुरानी बीमारियाँ और शिफ्टिंग की थकान ने उसे बिस्तर पर डाल दिया। उस कठिन समय में यादव मैडम एक ढाल बनकर खड़ी रहीं। उन्होंने न केवल डॉक्टर को बुलाया और दवाइयों का इंतज़ाम किया, बल्कि अपने हाथों से राधिका को खाना खिलाया और उसकी देखभाल की। एक अजनबी जगह पर, जहाँ राधिका का अपना कोई नहीं था, वहाँ उसे एक बड़ी बहन और माँ जैसा साया मिल गया था।

1. A Family Found as Neighbors

In the house where Radhika had moved in, a Yadav family lived in the room right next to hers. The lady of the house was an Economics teacher, and her husband was a 'Jan Shikshak' (Public Teacher). Their son lived with them, while their daughter was studying in Gwalior. While there was a slight water problem in the area, the behavior of these people was as pleasant as cool water.

2. First Step of Friendship: Help Without Asking

On the first day of shifting, Radhika was so exhausted that she didn't have the strength to cook. The teacher sensed Radhika’s fatigue and affectionately fed her at her home.
