• ​तन्हाई ने कहा मुझसे झूठा है तेरा ख़्वाब, मैंने कहा उससे सच्चा है मेरा ख़्वाब। जान मेरी जब आयेगी सामने मेरे, प्यार मिलेगा मुझे इतना की पूरा होगा मेरा हर ख़्वाब। (Loneliness told me that my dream is false, I told it that my dream is true. When my beloved comes before me, I will receive so much love that my every dream will be fulfilled.)
• ​ख़्वाबों की दुनिया से बाहर निकल के तो देखो, आई है तन्हाई तुम्हें बाँहों में लेने। सपनों के संसार से बाहर निकल कर तो देखो, सूनी राहों पर बड़ी शान से आ रहा है जनाज़ा बहार का। (Step out of the world of dreams and see, loneliness has come to take you in its arms. Step out of the world of dreams and see, the funeral of spring is arriving with great pride on the lonely paths.)
• ​प्यार की राहों पर ये चलने वालो, दिल से बाहर ज़रा झाँक कर तो देखो। मिलेंगे हर राह पर तुझे धोखे ही धोखे, तू ये ना समझ की तू इन दुनिया से जीत जायेगा। घर से अपने निकलकर तो देखो, ज़माना हर कदम पर तेरी हँसी उड़ायेगा। (O you who walk on the paths of love, just peer outside your heart and see.
