मुकद्दर जब मेरा खफा हो गया, गम सदा के लिए हम जुदा हो गया।

किससे कहें की दिल को तोड़ा किसने, जब प्यार ही हमारा बेवफा हो गया।

मुझे छोड़ कर जाने वाले इतना बता, किस लिए तू बा-वफ़ा से बेवफा हो गया।

ग्रहण लग गया मेरे प्यार के चाँद को, जिसे चाहा मैंने वो सितमगर बन गया।

तुमने ज़िंदगी गर मेरी संवारी होती, तो हर खुशी दो जहाँ की हमारी होती।

(My moon of love has been eclipsed; the one I loved became an oppressor. If you had graced my life, then every happiness of both worlds would have been mine.)

मेरे सफीने को मिल जाता यकीनन साहिल, तुमने भंवर में गर कश्ती न उतारी होती।

चले भी आओ की दिल उदास है, गम दुनिया भर का मेरे आसपास है।
