​3 दिन की ट्रेनिंग के बाद, राधिका का काम इतना अच्छा लगा कि एमडी ने उसे तुरंत रख लिया। राधिका की उम्र ज्यादा नहीं थी उस  समय लगभग 29 साल थी।

​एजेंसी का समय सुबह 9:30 बजे से शाम 7:30 बजे तक था। राधिका 7:30 पर छूटती थी तो 20 किलोमीटर दूर अपने घर आराम से पहुँच जाती थी।

​लेकिन पाँच-छह दिन बाद ही एमडी की नज़र राधिका पर पड़ी, और उसके दिमाग में कुछ अलग चलने लगा।

​एक दिन, 7:30 बजे के बाद राधिका को रोक लिया गया। एमडी ने कहा, “कुछ मीटिंग है।”

​वर्कर होने के नाते, राधिका को रुकना पड़ा। अगर नहीं रुकती तो नौकरी जाने का खतरा था नौकरी अभी-अभी लगी थी वह नहीं चाहती थी की नौकरी छूटजए जबकि उसे पता था कि 8 बजे के बाद घर जाने के लिए कोई साधन नहीं मिलता। 7:45 हो चुके थे, लेकिन एमडी ने छुट्टी नहीं दी।

​भाग 3: इज़्ज़त का मोल-भाव

​एमडी यहां - वहाँ की बातें करते रहे, फिर सीधे मुद्दे पर आए।

​एमडी: “पहले कहाँ-कहाँ काम किया है?”

राधिका ने उद्योग विभाग की नौकरी और उसे छोड़ने का कारण बताया।

एमडी: ने कहा “जवान हो, खूबसूरत हो। किसी ने साथ क्यों नहीं दिया? तुम्हें,,"

​राधिका ने बताया कि लोगों ने उसे नाम, पैसा, गाड़ी का लालच दिया था, पर उसे ज़रूरी नहीं लगा। 

​एमडी ने हँसकर कहा: “इज्ज़त बचाकर क्या करोगी? अचार डालोगी? तुम्हारा ज़मीर तुम्हें खाने को देगा? आज के समय में, पैसा ही सबसे बड़ा भगवान है। ज़िंदगी दी है, तो एंजॉय करो, मस्त जियो। जहाँ से पैसा मिलता है, ले लो! क्या करोगे मान-सम्मान का, जब पैसा ही नहीं रहेगा?”

​राधिका ने मज़बूती से जवाब दिया: “मुझे यह नहीं पसंद! मैं भूखे रहना पसंद करूँगी, मगर अपने ज़मीर को मार कर ज़िंदा रहना मुझे गँवारा नहीं है।”

​एमडी ने धमकाया: “तुम पढ़ी-लिखी नहीं थी, फिर भी मैंने तुम्हें काम पर रखा है।”

राधिका ने पलटकर कहा: “क्यों रखा है सर? मैंने तो आपसे नहीं कहा था कि आप मुझे काम पर रखो। जब मैं क्वालिफाई नहीं थी, तो आपको रखना नहीं था।”
